Wild Root Journeys

Guided sea kayaking journeys along the BC Coast. We offer experience, local high quality gear and delious meals.

Gods Pocket Marine Park 6 Day Sea Kayak Journey
Valid March 4, 2021 - July 15, 2021

Gods Pocket is an exceptional area to explore and to seek out wildlife viewing opportunities. The deep upwelling of cold water and currents offer plenty of food to our larger marine mammals including the Northern Resident Orcas, Humpback whales and Stellar Sea Lions. Knowing the times of the currents and having local knowledge is incredibly valuable to maximize our flow with these currents and to position ourselves to view wildlife without interfering in their behaviours. Suitable to those with some camping ad sea kayaking experience.

Wild Root Journeys offers guides with experience and heart. Our goal is to open doors into nature for those seeking out adventure, time to recharge and growth. We value the richness of traveling through our environment, self-propelled. Here we are reminded, once again, to move with our environment.

Come to relish in the outdoors, move your body, enjoy a deep comfortable sleep, feast on locally sourced food that is prepared for you, learn skills and new information about the environment and find time to relax.

All of our guides are certified through the Sea Kayak Guide Alliance of BC, with ongoing first aid and skills training.

We pride ourselves in running several LGBTQ2S specific trips with diverse guides.

Since my broken group island paddle with Wild root journeys I knew there wasnt any other way id want to spend my birthday! With full confidence that our guide Silke would practice all social distancing and sanitization practices I felt safe to invite my family. From the start to finish this journey was organized and informative. My siblings had all different levels of paddling experience and Silkes patience really shone bright that meant for a comfortable paddle and pace. Along the way we got to see plenty star fish, eagles and seals! When ready for our delicious lunch Silke found us a private beach to dock and enjoy the views away from crowds. To our delight on our paddle back Silke shared Indigenous history of where we were passing by. Overall this was a perfect day to connect with family and nature and will be cherished for many years to come!! Cant speak highly enough of Wild root journeys and the fantastic staycation celebration it turned out to be.
