Together in our Victoria, B.C., studio, we create a range of botanically-based facial skin care, body care and aromatherapy products with the intention of making self-care as simple, joyful and inclusive as possible.
What’s with the name? Well, the two of us met in early 2016 as herbal apprenticeship students. While working together on our final project one afternoon, we sheepishly confessed to one another how much we enjoy the ritual of a good glass of wine. But what made us so reluctant to admit this fact to one another?
Choosing a healthy, natural lifestyle, we reflected, is often presented as an all-or-nothing affair, with zero room for transgressions. Real life, on the other hand, is messy and chaotic and calls for the freedom to choose self-care in whatever form we need, whether that means green smoothies or a much-needed glass of shiraz!
As we began regularly brewing up self-care recipes and jokingly referring to ourselves as the two drunk witches, a vision quickly formed: to create products that highlight the potent, skin-nourishing benefits of plant-based ingredients while celebrating the fact that healthy living and self-care are about listening to our bodies and minds and responding with what feels right.
Our products are created using a variety of natural and organic plant-based ingredients to hydrate, protect and replenish the skin. Meanwhile, we capture the same cheeky sense of humour that inspired our name in our unique array of self-care spells, from our Colony of Hippies Calming Spray, infused with pure essential oils of patchouli, frankincense, lavender and ylang ylang, to our Naked Solstice Facial Serum with Vitamin C and Neroli, an intoxicating blend that will leave you as luminous as if you’d been dancing all night beneath the full moon!
We believe clean, natural products should be as accessible as they are effective, and we have carefully priced our products to reflect this value. Our formulas are paraben-free and phthalate-free, and contain no synthetic dyes or fragrances. We use only 100% pure essential oils to scent our creations.
