A dish isn’t called “comfort food” for no reason. And Soul Bite Food ’s flaky phyllo pastries, exotic spices, and hearty rolls provide plenty of comfort, especially to vegan eaters. But, incredibly, this company is determined to provide comfort to more than just their customers. Through the power of stuffed veggies, cabbage rolls, and mushroom and Persian-spiced pastries, they’re fighting world hunger and scaling down food waste.

Soul Bite Food offers a range of unique, plant-powered meals influenced by old ethnic recipes with traditional flavors from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Their line includes Stuffed Peppers, Stuffed Eggplant, Cabbage Rolls, Balkan Mushroom and Taste of Persia.
Soul Bite’s careful engineering of the perfect ethnic inspired vegan comfort food experience began to pay off richly. In February 2020, they won silver for BC’S Most Outstanding New Product at the From the Ground Up Tradeshow. Inspired, the team started the push to get their products on grocery store shelves.
Soul Bite Food was innovated by the Immigrant Link Centre Society (ILCS), a charity created in 2016 to fight against world hunger. In the last five years Igor Bjelac, Director and Ali Haeri, Member of Board of charity have put their own time and money into the program, which led them to creating their social enterprise, Soul Bite Food in 2019. It was shaped to help ILCS grow, keep more people fed and contribute to other charities dedicated to fighting hunger and food waste. Igor and Ali donate 50% of profits from Soul bite towards ILCS and other charities.
