Staging specialists pivot to manufacture operational health and safety

Like most businesses in the events industry, local scene shop Scene Ideas Inc. has been drastically impacted by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Without any large-scale events on the horizon, Scene Ideas has been fighting to stay in business and has had to quickly pivot to keep their doors open. Capitalizing on their strengths as a custom manufacturer, builder and printer, Scene Ideas is now manufacturing a variety of PPE and protective plexiglass barriers including vehicle barriers in their local Richmond based shop. Among their new product line are a series of creative lawn signs with positive messaging like Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Safe†and Canada Calls You to Do Your Part in the Fight Against Covid-19†to help spread awareness and raise funds for the CKNW Kids’ Funds newly created Connecting Kids’ Fund.

Scene Ideas prides itself on high quality craftsmanship, custom fabrication and quick turnaround and is pleased to keep their dynamic team employed while offering a host of viable safely solutions to companies locally and across the country. Having seen the great concepts and creative event work done by Scene Ideas over the years, I was really happy to get a behind-the-scenes tour of where the magic happens. Or at least, where it gets dreamed up, designed, developed, and built. Great things here for Production Designers and film/TV art teams and buyers. Also, super PPE stuff done for the hospitality, entertainment, transportation, and retail sectors. BONUS: side tour of their new equipment and 3D printers in the production area of Caliper Print and Signage Solutions. Very impressive! (See review)
