2002-2006 – Worked for Pitney Bowes selling Postage Meters in the Lower Mainland

Sept. 2006 – Left Pitney Bowes and bought a restaurant in Langley. During the next year while owning and managing my restaurant I had a lot of my old Pitney Bowes customers calling asking if there was anywhere else they could buy the ink cartridges. Since Pitney Bowes almost had a monopoly I decided to give customers an alternate and local choice.

September 2007 – Started ASAP Meter Ink part time

May 2008 – Began full time as demand had become so high that Pitney Bowes became proactive in competing with me by calling customers with an ‘Ink Win back Program’ and mailing out letters and catalogues.

2009 – I began selling Neopost and Francotyp-Postalia ink cartridges.

2010 – I started offering a loyalty program where customers earn credit from their supply purchases to use towards acquiring a future postage meter when their current lease expires.

2010 – Langley Environmental Hero

2010 – Work with the UVIC Gustavson School of Business hiring co-op students

2011 – Joined The Vancouver Board of Trade, Victoria Chamber of Commerce, Langley Chamber of Commerce, Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce, Burnaby Board of Trade and the White Rock & South Surrey Chamber of Commerce. We also became a member of The World Trade Centre Association

2011 – Volunteer Career Talk Experts at the Simon Fraser University Beedie School of Business and Member of Leaders of Tomorrow Mentorship program at The Vancouver Board of Trade

2012 – We began storing the product in a fulfillment warehouse called Pakmail, they do our assembly from custom labels, bagging, custom boxes and shipping. We also moved our head office to a larger facility to accommodate our growth.

2012 – Langley Environmental Hero

Over the years customers have suggested that I start selling other ink cartridges for printers, faxes and copiers. In 2012 I began doing just that, offering HP, Lexmark, Brother and many other brands under the name ASAP Printer Ink.

2013 – We hit the 5,000 customer mark and re-branded with 4 divisions. We now have ASAP Office Supplies, ASAP Meter Ink, and ASAP Mail Services under the ASAP Group umbrella.

2013 – We started planting a forest with The Carbon Farmer(as seen on Dragon’s Den) to offset our carbon footprint. http://createyourforest.ca/asap-group-and-chad-the-postage-meter-guy

Excellent speedy turn around time on deliveries and prices are definitely better than the usual suppliers. Best part is they also send a thank you for your business to my favorite charitable organization!
