RAMP originally opened in 1928 on Baker Street on top of the roof of the now existing Best Western Hotel. There was a large ramp created to access this location and thus the name RAMP caught on. When the business moved to Josephine Street and then to its current location on Simpson Road the name RAMP came along too.
RAMP has been passed down through the family. It was originally owned by Jack and Linda McElree and then later passed down to their children. Their family continues to run RAMP Body Works with the same focus on customer service and job satisfaction which was the cornerstone of the business when Jack and Linda operated it.
The current owners’, Fred and Karen Sapriken, goal is to celebrate RAMP’s 100 year anniversary in 2028. They are proud to be part of the Nelson community and hope to continue to due so for years to come!
